Paladin Studios based in the Netherlands announced The store closed after being in business for about 19 years.

The studio claimed this was because it had not had enough work in recent months to maintain financial stability. Those fired will receive severance pay, but the studio will not be in debt. The studio’s existing games will continue to receive technical support.

“Yesterday, our quest came to an end and we closed our studio,” the studio said in a blog post.

“For almost 19 years, we have poured our heart and soul into creating games that make you smile.Starting as a bootstrapped mini-studio in 2005, we have navigated the twists and turns of the gaming industry. Slowly but surely, we have found our place within it.In recent years, the number of employees at the studio has reached a peak of 55 people, as of this writing. We are now 45 people, each with brilliant minds and kind hearts, and together we have created true magic.

“We’ve also worked with great partners like Nintendo, Apple Arcade, Netflix, Zeptolab, Bandai Namco and many others. Last but not least, our games are played by millions of people. , winning prestigious awards and bringing smiles to people all over the world. It was a dream come true for us.

“However, over the past few months, unfortunately, we have not been able to acquire enough work to cover our burn rate.Yesterday, we reached an inflection point in our financial security. “This was an irresponsible decision that could have possibly caused problems.”We will therefore provide all employees with adequate severance packages and ensure a proper closure so that the studio remains debt-free. We took this step to do so.

“If you have any openings for design, programming, 2D art, 3D art, production, QA, administrative staff, or support staff, please contact us. We have all the skills here and these people are the best in the industry.

“Our existing games will survive and we will continue to provide (technical) support in the future.

“I’d like to thank my team, partners and industry colleagues for the great time I had. It’s been a truly wild journey and I wouldn’t want to miss out on this experience for the world.”

Paladin Studios is working on: nailed it! Baking Bash, Cut the Rope Remastered, Good Job!, Stormbound, Amazing Katamari Damacy, more.
