Linde doubles merchant liquid capacity at La Porte, Texas | Linde plc

Linde has doubled its merchant liquid capacity at its La Porte, Texas-based air separation unit (ASU) to meet increased demand for industrial gases across the US Gulf Coast.

News of the increased capacity comes just weeks after the company announced similar plans for its ASU in Mims, Florida, to support an array of end-user markets.

In addition to merchant liquid products, Linde’s Texas ASU supplies the company’s Gulf Coast nitrogen and oxygen pipeline system, which extends from the Houston ship channel south to Freeport.

Amer Akhras, Vice-President of the South Region at Linde, said, “This investment augments Linde’s already robust industrial gases infrastructure in one of the largest economies in the US, deepening our network density and enhancing efficiency and reliability.”

He added that the safe execution of the project is on schedule.

At the time of writing, Linde has more than 30 air separation and hydrogen production facilities, liquid storage facilities, and an underground high-purity hydrogen storage cavern on the US Gulf Coast.

The industrial gas giant’s network is connected by over 1,000 kilometres of hydrogen, nitrogen, and oxygen pipelines to ensure the supply of industrial gases to its customers.
