Google is bringing Gemini 1.5 Pro to more people

Today, Google I/O 2024 just happened, and the company announced some new additions to Gemini and its suite of software products. It’s been pretty tough knowing the most powerful model that the company has to offer, as Gemini has gone through a few iterations since it launched. However, it appears that its most powerful model is Gemini 1.5 Pro. Google announced that Gemini 1.5 Pro is being released to more people.

Gemini 1.5 Pro is now available to more people

During Google I/O, Google CEO Sundar Pichai did the obligatory task of detailing how far the company has gone since introducing Gemini. It’s gone through a lot of changes and controversy over the past couple of months, but it still remains one of the most powerful AI platforms on the planet.

Pichai mentioned that Gemini 1.5 Pro is the company’s most powerful AI model. It’s a multimodal AI model that encompasses different forms of media and has multiple levels of reasoning. It’s powering an entire platform of AI tools, and it’s only getting better as time goes on. So far, the company has been testing this model amongst a limited number of users. However, Pichai announced that Gemini 1.5 Pro will be available globally to developers.

Along with that, the company announced that Gemini 1.5 Pro will also be available to Consumers through Gemini Advanced. In order to access Gemini Advanced, you will need to buy the Google One AI premium payment here. It costs $20/month, and it gives you access to the most powerful models that Gemini has to offer. Massive token window

One of the most notable things about Gemini 1.5 Pro is the 1 million-token limit. This gives it incredible contact so that you can input a ton of data into it to process. You’re able to import a ton of video data, audio data, text data, and images. For example, you can have it ascertain entire novels in case you want to summarize. It far outweighs the context window you get from models such as GPT-4.

That’s not all, as the company is also testing a version of Gemini Pro 1.5 with up to 2 million tokens. That is unprecedented, and certainly extremely useful. However, the company is only testing this with a limited number of users. So, chances are that you will not be able to use it if you are an average customer.
