Chiefs News: After first rookie practice is shown, fans call for bust selection in first round

Kansas City Chiefs are in the news NFL It has been gaining attention around the world in recent seasons, and for good reason. Since 2019, Kansas City has won three Super Bowls and is building a true dynasty. They enter next season aiming for a three-peat, but the organization has taken it upon themselves to add even more talent for that challenge.

The Chiefs traded with the Buffalo Bills in the first round of the NFL Draft to acquire wide receiver Xavier Worthy from the University of Texas. Kansas City dealt with all sorts of issues with its receiving core last season and still won the Super Bowl.

Naturally, Chiefs fans have come to expect excellence from their team. Worthy was seen doing a few reps in practice on May 4, during which he was seen dropping a pass. This caused fans to start calling him a “failure,” which is likely due to PTSD from last season when the Chiefs wideout led the NFL in dropped passes.

Here are some fan reactions to Worthy’s drops during practice.

Worthy is already a perfect fit

He dropped his first pass, but he’s already settled in well with the Chiefs.

Although it’s an offseason practice, it’s understandable for fans to be concerned considering what they witnessed last season. Kansas City had 44 dropped passes from wide receivers a year ago, so that’s not a great start. However, there will be a learning curve for Worthy entering the NFL from the college level. This is the first time he has received a pass at this level and he needs to time it well.

There’s a reason Kansas City selected him as a first-round wide receiver, and he should be fine. Last season at Texas, Worthy had 75 catches for 1,014 yards and five touchdowns in 14 games. He led the Longhorns to the College Football Playoff for the first time and was dominant throughout the season.

Playing with star quarterback Patrick Mahomes should do wonders for Worthy, making him likely one of the top candidates for the two-time MVP.Plus, there are guys who like tight ends. travis kelsey, wide receiver Skai Moore and wide Hollywood Brown around him should help him settle into his new life as a member of the Chiefs. We’ll see how he transitions to the pro level once the games actually start. For now, everyone should take a deep breath, drink the water droplets you ingested during practice, and relax.
